Dr. Jade Echagarrua D.V.M

Jade Echagarrua was born in Miami and grew up in Little Havana. As a child, she attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic School before becoming a student at Immaculata LaSalle High School, during which time she worked as a veterinary technician at Silver Bluff Animal Hospital. She also volunteered with the South Florida SPCA.

She graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Biology in 2011. Throughout her undergraduate studies, she worked at UF’s Health Shands teaching hospital, as well as at an equine boarding/breeding facility. She went on to the Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine on the tiny island of St. Kitts in the West Indies. She spent her last clinical year at Iowa State University. During veterinary school, Dr. Echagarrua was an active member of the student chapters of the American Association of Bovine Practitioners (AABP) and American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP).

Dr. Echagarrua’s professional interests include large animal, production, and reproductive medicine. She hopes to extend Silver Bluff’s unique animal care to the large animal community in the South Florida area. She plans to study animal chiropractics and become certified in the near future.

Dr. Echagarrua currently lives in Miami, Florida, but hopes to relocate to Homestead soon. She has three dogs (a couple of Bullmastiffs and an island mix) as well as two cats. She enjoys spending time with family, friends, and her pets, gardening, horseback riding, and being outdoors.
